Brookwood News is created by our Brookwood Middle School students— from start to finish. Students research stories, write scripts, film segments, and edit each episode as part of their learning experience.
While topics may include current events or health-related information, the perspectives and messaging shared are developed by students as part of classroom discussion and media literacy work. These broadcasts are intended to showcase student creativity, and critical thinking, not official district statements.
Thank you for supporting our student journalists!

During classroom guidance with Mrs. Ocker, our 4th and 5th grade students practiced cooperation in a hands-on way by working together through games and building activities like Legos, marble runs, and Lincoln Logs. Students had to communicate, share ideas, listen to one another, and sometimes compromise in order to complete their builds and reach a common goal.
Activities like these help students strengthen important skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and maintaining a positive attitude when challenges arise. It was great to see students encouraging one another, sharing materials, and celebrating their successes together.
Learning to cooperate helps our students build stronger friendships and become supportive members of our school community!

Students at BMS worked together in their advisories during Kindness Week to create a heart for our We Matter Kindness Tree. Advisory students grappled with the following question: What can I do to help someone feel welcome and included? They came up with a lot of great ways we can continue to create a school community where everyone feels connected and like they belong.
Because when one student feels like they matter, our whole school is stronger. 💛
