Recently, our 3rd graders went to the middle school to get a snapshot of life in 4th grade. Students met the RA/specials teachers, had lunch with their 4th grade buddy, and experienced gaga ball at recess. Many, many questions were asked and answered.

Our first-grade students enjoyed an exciting field trip filled with both learning and fun! The day began with outdoor playtime at Veteran’s Park, where students had a chance to enjoy the fresh air and spend time with friends. Afterward, they visited Badger High School for a special tour of their greenhouses. Agriculture students served as our guides, teaching the first graders about the planting process. Students learned how seeds are started, how plants are cared for, and how the greenhouse prepares for its annual plant sale. It was a wonderful opportunity to see science in action and connect with older students in our local community who are passionate about agriculture. This experience perfectly complemented the end of our first-grader's literacy unit on plants, during which students researched a plant of their choice and learned about its basic needs, life cycle, parts, and more!

🌿 4K Family Fun at Seno! 🌿 The 4K outreach event was full of smiles, sunshine, and hands-on nature-based learning at the beautiful Seno K/RLT Conservancy! Families explored the wonders of the outdoors together with engaging activities like worm painting 🎨, sweeping the prairie with nets to discover tiny critters 🦋, and an adventurous scavenger hunt 🔍 that had everyone on the move. It was a joy to see curiosity bloom and little hands busy with big discoveries. Thank you to all the families who joined us—your enthusiasm made the day unforgettable! 💚

According to the US Department of Health and Human Services 1 in 5 children ages 3-17 has a mental, emotional or behavioral disorder. Most common are anxiety, depression and ADHD. 50% of lifetime mental health problems start before the age of 14. During the week of Children's Mental Health Awareness, Mrs. Fitzsimmons will be doing two lessons in each grade level (K-3) on what mental health is, coping skills, self care and mental health vs physical health. Much of this is also touched on throughout the year within our classroom guidance program. Please join us in supporting Children's Mental Health Awareness Day by wearing GREEN on May, 8th 2025.
