Genoa City Schools Pediatric Cancer Awareness Walk
Thursday, September 26
The Genoa City School District will come together on Thursday, September 26 for our annual Pediatric Cancer Awareness Walk. Students from both Brookwood Elementary and Brookwood Middle School will partner with their school buddies to walk side by side in support of children and families affected by pediatric cancer.
This special event not only raises awareness but also builds community between our elementary and middle school students as they walk together in friendship and support.
Donations collected will benefit Kisses from Friends, a local pediatric cancer foundation that provides comfort and care for children and their families during treatment.

Third graders have been having a blast in their first week back at school, completing different STEM activities! Students worked on their teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and creativity during these challenges. They made paper chains (the longest was 37 feet!), marshmallow spaghetti towers, marble runs, and book towers with paper.

What a great first day!!! To THE BEST staff around!!
Let’s make it a great year, Mustangs!!

What a great day to be a Mustang! Today was our first official all staff day back in the buildings. Staff started off with breakfast being provided by our administrators and business office admin assistant — which followed by a district message from School Board President Katie Coari and Superintendent Weber. The rest of the day was filled with trainings and meetings. We can’t wait for the school year to start and get students back in the buildings. See you all on Tuesday at Open House in both buildings from 4pm-7pm.

We are SO excited to introduce to you all our newest Mustang staff members to our Brookwood Family!! We can't wait to start this new school year with them! You may recognize a few of these faces too… as a couple are returning and/or subbed for us in the past! We are so #MustangProud to introduce them to YOU!

If you haven’t registered your student yet or need help in doing so — please attend our on-site registration happening NOW at BMS until 7pm. Registration is required for ALL students in both buildings!!

2025-2026 School Supply Lists for BES & BMS

Create-A-Shed 2025 Summer School Session 1 & 2!
A group of talented middle school students recently wrapped up an exciting hands-on project, building a shed for our Brookwood community garden! Throughout the experience, students learned how to safely use tools, take accurate measurements, and explore a wide range of building techniques.
A huge shoutout to Mr. Erickson and Mr. Guth for their incredible leadership and for providing our students with such a valuable and memorable learning opportunity.
We’d also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dunn Lumber of Lake Geneva for generously donating all the supplies and materials that made this project possible.
This was a truly meaningful collaboration that brought together learning, community, and purpose, what a fantastic way to build something lasting!

Students in Shakespeare in a Week wowed the audience with their performance of The Jungle Book! We are so proud of our talented actors and actresses, the crowd was truly impressed by their hard work and creativity within such a short week! Way to make us #BrookwoodProud!

On the final day of Passport to the World, our seasoned travelers explored the beauty and richness of Poland. We were thrilled to welcome guest speakers Angelica and Julia, both of which had parents born in Poland. Angelica treated us to delicious homemade pierogies and a variety of Polish delicacies, such a tasty experience! She also taught us a traditional Polish game, and we wrapped up the day with a beautiful Wycinanki paper-cutting craft. What a fantastic way to end our journey!

Our students who chose to take summer sewing practiced fine motor skills, how to read a pattern, and patience. Their “under the sea” and “woodland animals” creations turned out very cute.
