Third grade students attended Badger High School’s Agriscience Day. They joined third grade students from all over the area to learn about what Badger offers and the importance of agriculture in our daily lives. We were so excited to see some of our former Mustangs represented in the FFA program too!! They led the tours and shared so much important information. More pictures on Facebook!

Thank you again Todd Donnelly for sharing your expertise with our elementary students today!! Make sure you ask your elementary student(s) about some of the songs they sang with Mr. Donnelly since they have been preparing for this assembly in music class with Mrs. Bullock for some time now. What a great day to be a Mustang!!

Pizza with the Principal was today for these students that were nominated by their homeroom teachers for Being Brookwood at the middle school. Way to go, Mustangs!!

The BMS cross-country team had a fantastic season! Everyone worked hard to improve their running times and cheered on their teammates. Many bonded over talking about which courses they remembered from last year and gave pointers to the new runners. Keep on running and continue to Be Brookwood!

BES Outdoor Fire Safety Day: October 12th
This year during fire safety week, Brookwood Elementary Scientists (4K-3rd) will be learning about outdoor fire safety at the new school forest!
Exploring fire’s uses and safety, hiking the forest, seeing a real wildfire fighter suit, and making s’mores are just some of the activities they will experience.
This will follow in class learning about the dangers of wildfires
and ways to reduce the risk of having a wildfire.

October 11th 7th & 8th Grade Field Trip: Build My Future
The objective of this field trip is to expose our students to various career opportunities in the trades industry.
They will have the chance to visit local businesses and interact with professionals in fields such as carpentry,
plumbing, electrical work, and more. This hands-on experience will provide them with valuable insights into
these trades, helping them make informed decisions about potential high school courses and even future
careers.

Your Principals,
Mr. Braden and Mr. Lubus

Such a great day for a great cause!!! Our annual Gold Walk was amazing….September is childhood cancer awareness month and we are proud to be able to help spread that awareness. Thank you to all those that were a part of this…the students, staff, parents, Genoa City Police Department, Dousman transport, and Kisses From Keegan and Friends! Gold bandanas were donated to all of our students and staff by Kisses from Keegan and Friends….we are still accepting donations to give to them to support local families affected by childhood cancer. Stay tuned for the drone footage coming next week from the police department!!!

Students in Mrs. Erickson's science class are currently learning about different environments, specifically deserts and rainforests. To help them learn they are planting rainforest (closed) and desert (open) terrariums. They will be observing the terrariums and keeping a journal about their observations for the next few weeks.

Our first graders are celebrating the completion of their reading stamina goal. Their goal was to read independently for 15 minutes. Over the past few weeks, the students have been increasing their minutes daily. They've been practicing how to look at the pictures and use strategies to help them read words they are stuck on. We are very proud of all the progress they've made this school year. First grade teachers thank the third grade team for the amazing idea! :)

We are so excited that our Mustang Morning Show is back!! This is a program open to our 3rd graders at BES. More information can be gotten from Mrs. Nast. This was this week's episode. Enjoy: https://youtu.be/gdFlexd5J-M?si=MNDLgvh7mdayNNQ6
