We are so excited to announce that at last night's school board meeting Mrs. Kanthack was presented with an award for being a finalist for the 2020 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching! The PAEMST program is the highest award from the federal government specifically for STEM subject teaching. Way to go, Mrs. Kanthack! Way to make us #BrookwoodProud

For your weekend enjoyment! Our Family Engagement Team is excited to share with our Brookwood Families and our community members a digital read aloud series where our team and staff members will be reading books aloud to you and your families while sharing effective reading strategies and activities for you to engage in at home with not only our books we are sharing with you but also your own personal books, books from our local library, our school libraries, or even books bought from the store. We hope you enjoy this activity and find ways to implement these strategies and games at home with your loved ones. We hope you enjoy this read aloud from Mrs. Conrardy! We love her special book she has to share with us this weekend because we haven't seen one of these shown yet! Milestones are behaviors or skills that we expect to see by a certain age. Screening in early childhood ensures that your child is on track for development that will lead to academic success. If your child isn't meeting milestones on time, they might benefit from early intervention to build their skills. Early intervention is more likely to be successful due to the amount the brain changes in early development. We are excited to offer our FREE Early Childhood Party! Children 18 months-3 years old at BES on April 30th. Our certified staff will be running exciting games and activities that will target specific developmental areas such as: fine motor, gross motor, speech and language, social emotional, and pre-academics. Parents will fill out a screening questionnaire beforehand, then bring join their child while our professionals interact with your child to make sure everything is on track for success!
