Brookwood Families, We are excited to once again offer our school supply program, Brookwood Bundles. The teachers have thoughtfully prepared a school supply list for the 2024-2025 school year, and we are pleased to offer an opportunity to purchase these supplies right here from your school! Forms for this program have been given to students to bring home. If you are in need of another copy, please contact your child’s front office to get another set. The grade level supplies will be gathered into convenient and hassle-free bundles. They will include all of the supplies needed for the school year and will be ready and waiting for your child in their classroom on Open House Night in August. There is no need to brave the busy stores and worry if you’ll find all of the items on the list. Our team will take care of all the details so that you may enjoy your precious summer days! The end of the school year is fast approaching and schedules are filling up quickly. Please take a moment out of your busy schedule to consider this opportunity. Each bundle purchased will help support our Families in Need school supply program. Thank you for your support! *If you are in need of assistance for your child’s Brookwood Bundle, here is more information in regards to support: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z2NGwcVOIG-2dt70GQRWl8KC_kkg3DrO/view?usp=sharing

We are SO excited to announce that all 4K-7th graders will be going home with summer school booklets today!! Classes are FREE for all students enrolled at Brookwood. ALL classes will be held at the middle school this summer. Students are registered on a first "received" basis -- due to popular demand and limited class sizes -- we enroll students as forms are turned into the offices. Forms should be turned into your child's homeroom teacher with the building they attend so they can get them submitted to the office in a timely and orderly fashion. Market Day is an awesome learning experience for our 3rd graders. In social studies, they have been studying Producers and Consumers, and Saving and Spending. Students have created their own businesses with a handmade product. They have worked on supply costs, marketing and production. On Market Day, students set up their stands and sell their products. Every student and teacher receives 10 Apple Bucks on their way in and they can purchase whatever products they want. Yes, this is real life products, but not real money. Students have art work, crafts, slime, etc. It's like a farmers market set up and students are allowed to walk through and check out all the products. Attached is the YouTube video of last year's Market Day, if you want to get a better idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGvruYxdGgA&feature=youtu.be

Way to make us #MustangProud, Lucas!! Lucas is the first student at BES to reach 200 reading steps with our monthly reading logs through our reading curriculum. Those 200 steps equal 50 hours of reading! Wow! Way to go Lucas and all those families helping their children grow in literacy by reading at home.

The second graders at BES will be traveling to the Lake Geneva YMCA for five Monday afternoons starting April 22 (ending May 20th). They will be in the water learning valuable swimming skills like Swim, Float, Swim; Jump, Push, Turn, Grab; and Moving Bobs to Safety. We will also learn water safety skills both in and out of the pool. Everyone is able to do this free of charge thanks to the YMCA. The Geneva Lakes YMCA Aquatics Dept., is ALWAYS thinking about water safety because they are very passionate about teaching kids to swim and be safe around water to help prevent drowning. In our communities, there are so many lakes & pools that this is a necessary skill for our kids to be learning. We are joining over 1500 kids and 13 schools in Walworth County and beyond that have already come to the YMCA to learn these much-needed life skills. *Families can check with their child's homeroom teacher for more information and details on these events*

Third grade students took their geometry to the streets! They took all the information they have learned about polygons, triangles and quadrilaterals to create incredible mosaic chalk art. This was an enjoyable and academic break from their Forward state testing.
