The first graders have been busy exploring the wonderful world of plants! Throughout this unit, students researched the important parts of plants, their basic needs, life cycles, and the different habitats where they grow. They also dove deep into their research to find the most interesting “WOW” facts to share with classmates. Way to work hard, Mustangs!

We are so #MustangProud of all of our incredible spellers who participated in this year’s Brookwood Elementary Spelling Bee! These students showed determination, courage, and a love for learning as they took on the challenge of spelling in front of their peers. First Grade has some EGGciting news to share… their chicks have hatched! 🐣
Over the past three weeks, students have been actively learning about and documenting the egg-hatching process. Eggs were carefully placed in incubators and monitored closely each day. Along the way, students discovered how eggs are candled to determine if they are fertilized, and they eagerly observed the incredible stages of chicks beginning to pip, zip, and finally hatch.
What an amazing opportunity for our students to witness this life cycle firsthand and see these adorable chicks come to life right before their eyes!
A special thank you to Bill Erickson for being such a valuable support to the First Grade students throughout this eggciting experience.
