Parents of 7th and 8th grade students are invited to attend the meeting on Monday, September 21 at 5:30 in the BMS Cafeteria to learn more about the upcoming Washington, D.C. trip. The trip is offered every other year to our 7th and 8th graders. We hope you will come to learn more about this exciting opportunity.

Finding Our Place at Brookwood!
BMS wrapped up the first week of school by bringing students together for a special Welcome Back Assembly focused on an important message: Everyone has a place at Brookwood!
We celebrated some of the amazing student artwork featured throughout our school materials this year.
We highlighted the many clubs, sports, activities, and opportunities available for students to get involved, try something new, and find where they belong.
And, of course, we had some fun! Students participated in games and challenges that reminded us that Brookwood is at its best when everyone contributes, supports one another, and helps others feel like they belong.
Whether it's in the classroom, on a team, in a club, or simply through the friendships we build, there are so many ways to find your place at Brookwood.

Go Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness! Brookwood's Annual Gold Walk. Wear gold or yellow to school on Sept. 18! Pediatric Cancer Awareness Walk
All Brookwood students (grades 5K–8) will be participating in our Pediatric Cancer Awareness Walk.
Voluntary contributions will be gratefully accepted and donated to Kisses From Friends (www.kissesfromfriends.org/donate), a local foundation that supports families affected by childhood cancer. Kisses From Friends provides:
Emotional and financial support for families locally and at the Children’s Hospitals of Milwaukee and Madison.
Special experiences for children and their families to build community and connection. Care packages and wagons for hospital stays, filled with cozy blankets (often handmade by Brookwood kids) and other comforts. Assistance with lodging and travel expenses related to hospital stays and appointments.

What a great night for Brookwood!
Thank you to all of our Brookwood families and staff who joined us for our fall McTeacher’s Night at McDonald’s!
It was wonderful seeing so many of our students and families come out to support Brookwood, spend time together, and have some fun outside of the school day.
Our staff jumped right in to help, our Mustang made an appearance, and even Mr. Lubus traded in his principal hat for an Apple Pie costume!
A big thank you to McDonald’s for hosting us and supporting our school. We are grateful for a community that continues to show up for our students and Brookwood!

Our buildings were filled with smiling faces, excited students, incredible energy, and so much Mustang spirit! We are SO proud to have our Mustangs back in our buildings and officially kick off another amazing school year.

Welcome to the Mustang Family! Jessica Meyer - 4th Grade Teacher - Genoa City Joint 2 School District
Jessica grew up in Johnsburg, Illinois, and lives with her family.
She's a life-long Cubs fan and now a Packer fan! Grew up cheering the Bears and made the switch when she met her boyfriend, Dylan. She's the only one in her family that's a teacher. Went to the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Jessica did a study away program for teaching in Puerto Rico. Travel is one of her main hobbies-went to Belize & Guatemala with tour groups, and went to 4 different islands in Greece!
She loves talking with people and the culture. An outdoor person, she enjoys swimming and boating. A big Swift fan, she'll "go to any concert", even if she doesn't know the band (think Summerfest). Watches rom-com and enjoys scrapbooking. Top bucket list: Ozarks and seeing the bioluminescence in Alaska.

Carie lives in Walworth and was at Reek Elementary School for 12 years. She made the career switch to expand on her Business Manager license. She has two sons: Andrew (20) is at UW Madison for Business, and Owen (24), lives in Milwaukee and works in construction project management. Carie shares her home with Smoky the cat.
She loves to hike, paddleboard, and read fiction & drama. She enjoys live music—Summerfest!—and swing dancing. She’s working toward being able to travel: Ireland, Sweden, and maybe Greece.
She is looking forward to working with the team. Carie stayed in education because, as a teacher, she impacted students, and as a Business Manager, she can impact the district. She loves gardening and does all her own home improvement projects at her house. She is proudly Youtube taught!

Welcome to the Mustang Family! Eddy Ringsby - BES Principal - Genoa City Joint 2 School District
This is Eddy's 24th year in education! That spans teaching, instructional coaching, and literacy & math coaching, as well as being a principal for 6 years. Eddy also has his superintendent license and reading specialist license.
Born in California, his family came out here when he was 3.
Eddy's the oldest, with one younger brother and sister (both in Green Bay) He follows the sports teams in CA, but is also a devoted Packer fan. Football, basketball & soccer are his favorites, and he coaches soccer the most.
Wife, Rachel, is an 8th grade history teacher, and they have 4 boys: Jacob, Hudson, Carter, and Landon. Nala the GoldenDoodle completes their family in Kansasville. They enjoy spending time with family-oftentimes, they go to cool historical sites, but most of their free time is spent around sports. He really enjoys boys' soccer- especially for ages 11-14 because it's when they're learning all the important things.
Eddy has most been looking forward to getting to know everybody: kids, staff, and families!
