Standing together against bullying and choosing kindness, inclusion, and respect....by wearing orange, we show that everyone belongs, everyone matters, and we can all make a difference by being a buddy, standing up for others, and spreading kindness.

We are so #MustangProud of our marching band as they marched in the homecoming parade and performed at the Badger High School homecoming game! It was also really awesome to see so many of our alumni as well and play along with them while representing Brookwood!

Please help us welcome Dan Farrell to our Brookwood staff! Dan moved from Kenosha to Pell Lake about a year ago. He's really excited about the community, fishing in Pell Lake, and this new opportunity at Brookwood! He's really enjoying how welcoming the staff is and how fun the kids have been to work with. Dan has 2 adult children, Abby (27) & Zach (25). His youngest just moved out last year, so Dan is officially an empty-nester. When he's not working, Dan enjoys music-some country, but mostly classic rock and metal. He likes watching football and baseball and doesn't follow any one team-he has lots of favorites. In fact, he cheers for both the Bears and Packers, so this next game should be loud! He enjoys the Cubs and has been down to Wrigley Field. He's always surprised to run into someone that he knows while visiting Chicago.

The 5th and 6th graders will travel to the College of Lake County on Tuesday, October 27, to attend a live musical performance titled Earth to Kenzie. This 45-minute operetta is sung in English. In music class, students will learn about singing/vocal ranges, instruments, storyline, and being a good audience member, among other aspects of the performance.
The trip is partially sponsored by the Lake Geneva Chapter of the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

Last week, our 7th and 8th graders had an exciting opportunity to explore careers in the skilled trades at the Build My Future field trip! Students experienced hands-on activities, interacted with
industry professionals, and learned about career pathways in
fields like construction and the trades. Experiences like this help
students discover interests, connect classroom learning to the
real world, and begin imagining possibilities for their futures. You
never know what experience might spark a student's future

Auditions are for students who want a solo, lead, or speaking role. Students who wish to participate in the ensemble do not need to audition, but do need to contact Mrs. Coggins!
Audition times are open and ready for sign-up in at Mrs. Coggins' room, 123! Or email: kylie.coggins@gcj2.k12.wi.us
-Prepare and sing a 30-60 second portion of any song from High School Musical Jr.
-Use of sheet music is allowed, and the official soundtrack will be provided at the audition

Forensics is competitive speaking and acting where students can perform speeches, stories, or acting pieces individually or with a partner.
Practices will be held after school from 2:30–3:30. Competitions will begin in January.
No experience is needed! Students involved in other sports and activities are welcome to join. Email kylie.coggins@gcj2.k12.wi.us for further information.
